Barely 24 hours after a woman (pictured above) was almost lynched by a mob for allegedly attempting to kidnap a child in Okokomaiko area of Lagos State – another woman was allegedly apprehended in the same area, yesterday.
The woman, whose identity could not be ascertained at press time, was sighted pacing around Tipper Garage, location of three private schools, yesterday afternoon. An eyewitness said her movement became suspicious after the close of school, when pupils were leaving for their respective homes, as she was sighted walking behind some of them.
A curious resident was said to have approached her and demanded to know what her mission was and she allegedly claimed to be living around the area, but when inquisitive residents followed her to the street she said was hers, no resident could identify her. This created a scene as she was subjected to interrogation. Another eyewitness, who gave his name simply as Chionye, said:
“She was asked to sit on the floor. And when she did, someone removed her cap, only to discover that some naira notes, in different denominations, were hidden there. “People around descended on her and asked her to confess what she came to do, but were shocked when she started licking the blood that was gushing out of her bruises.”
The eyewitness said some people later suggested she should be taken to the station. However, when this reporter contacted policemen at Okokomaiko, they claimed that no such person was brought to the station.
